This tour marks The Band of the Irish Guards and Royal Regiment of Scotland debut in the United States. The Irish Guards was formed in 1900 at the wish of Queen Victoria to commemorate the bravery of the Irish Regiments who had fought in the South African campaigns; the Regimental Band was formed at about the same time. Traditionally, the British Army of bands provided musical support to troops on active duty.
