Versatility is a hallmark of the Juilliard-trained Wynton Marsalis. As music director of the Jazz at Lincoln Center
Orchestra, it’s clear that style and experience are leading characteristics as well. Under his direction, the Orchestra
performs a vast repertoire, from rare historic compositions to Jazz at Lincoln Center-commissioned works. Marsalis
became the first jazz artist to be awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in music for his oratorio “Blood on the
Fields,” commissioned by Jazz at Lincoln Center. Hailed as "an extraordinarily versatile orchestra" by the Los
Angeles Times, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is composed of 15 of jazz music's leading instrumental soloists.
